Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Chill Technologies LLC ("we") handles on this website, chillengine.tech, and in Chill Engine, our software for direct-to-consumer brands. Questions: ryo@chillengine.tech. Our Chill app has its own policy at usechill.app/privacy.
This website
We do not use cookies, analytics or trackers on chillengine.tech. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Chill Engine uses YouTube API Services
Chill Engine uses YouTube API Services. By using its YouTube features you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Our own YouTube channel. With permission granted through Google sign-in (the
youtube.force-sslscope), Chill Engine posts replies to YouTube comments on behalf of our own channel, reads replies to those comments, and checks whether our comments are still visible. We use this access for nothing else. The access and refresh tokens are stored only on our own computer, in files that only our system account can read. - Public YouTube data. Chill Engine searches public videos and reads public comments about the topics our products address. We store the comment text, public video information (such as title and channel), and a one-way hash of the comment author's channel ID instead of their name. We use this to find questions we can answer and to draft replies.
- Retention. We keep YouTube data for no longer than 30 days unless we refresh it from YouTube, and then delete it.
- Replies we post are public on YouTube, and each one says it comes from an automated assistant for our brand.
- AI processing. To understand comments and draft replies, we send comment text to an AI model provider through its API. We never send Google account credentials, and we do not use YouTube data to train AI models.
Other public discussions
For product research we also read public discussions on other websites, such as Reddit. We store the public text we read, including the author's public username, in our own database. We use it only for internal research, and we do not sell or share it.
Links and landing pages
If you open a link we share in a reply, our landing page records a random visit token and which pages you view, so we can learn which answers help. We do not set tracking cookies, and we do not store IP addresses or browser user-agent strings. The record of a link holds topic tags, not the text of your comment.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that run our systems (an AI model provider, our email provider and our website host), and when the law requires it.
Your choices
- You can remove Chill Engine's access to a Google account at any time at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Once access is removed, Chill Engine can no longer use it.
- To ask us to delete information about you, email ryo@chillengine.tech. Because we store hashed IDs rather than names, a link to the comment or post helps us find it.
Children
Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any change on this page and update the effective date.
